The Red Wine Hiking Trail is beautiful at every time of year. It is especially worthwhile for vinophiles during harvest time.  During your hike, take the opportunity to enjoy a taste of the new wine directly at the vintner’s facility. Or just stop for a while in one of the charming winegrowing towns. You will find many inviting taverns, restaurants or guest houses.

Charming Winegrowing Towns Along the Red Wine Trail

From Altenahr to Bad Bodendorf, the Red Wine Hiking Trail takes you past Mayschoß, Rech, Dernau, Marienthal, Walporzheim, Bachem, Ahrweiler and Bad Neuenahr at half-elevation, leading you through a picturesque landscape. The trail meanders along 35km through the vineyards and terraces of the Ahr.

Local hiking trails lead up green terraces and grant gloriously beautiful views of the red wine paradise of the Ahr.
