New Hiking Trail "AhrSteig"

Your holiday spot Mayschoss lies directly on the AhrSteig. This 110 km long, new hiking path leads to the Saffenburg above our town. Or, to be more precise: The Red Wine Path travels along here as a section or connecting path. This path which is rich in local tradition, links the western AhrSteig with the eastern Ahrsteig.

Start Your Hike Directly from the Hotel Pension...

The Hotel Jägerstübchen is the ideal lodging for hikes on the Ahrsteig. Hike starting from our location along southwest to Blankenheim to the headwaters of the Ahr. Or follow the course of the river in the opposite direction up to the castle Sinzig near the mouth of the Ahr on the Rhine.

The AhrSteig is newer than the better-known hiking trails Eifelsteig and Rheinsteig. It creates a link between these hiking trails.  And the new AhrSteig is just as attractive as the other two.

From the lexical component “Steig” in German you can already see it: Differences in elevation along the Ahrsteig an athletic challenge as it follows the Ahr through the hilly landscape.
